Hvis en syre og en base danne vil de to ioner kunne reagere med hinanden og derved danne vand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" has-text-align-center eplus-wrapper\">\\(H_3O^+(aq)+OH^-(aq)\\rightarrow 2H_2O(l)\\)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">De to ioner \u201coph\u00e6ver\u201d hinanden og derved \u00e6ndre pH. Hvis syren og basen blandes i \u00e6kvivalente m\u00e6ngder vil pH \u00e6ndre sig til pH 7 ogs\u00e5 kaldet for \u00e6kvivalenspunktet p\u00e5 en titreringskurve.
